Wolfberg is a Prague-based directing duo a.k.a Jan Kalvoda and Premek Ponahly, two former agency creatives, who directs elaborate and engaging commercial work for clients including Google, Nescafe, Budweiser/Budvar, McDonald’s and Lexware. The pair joined forces in 2008, leveraging their experience at agencies including Leo Burnett, Euro RSCG and Y&R. Ponahly was previously Art Director with a focus on animation while Kalvoda directed award-winning work as a Copywriter following graduation from the New York Film Academy. Wolfberg have since established a voluble presence in the global ad scene. By using mesmerizing and ingenious in-camera effects, measured shots and pairing live action with stop motion animation they create remarkable and captivating art work, often with a touch of wry comedy. “We understand advertising and the dynamics of filmmaking,” says Wolfberg, often tasked with redefining client’s needs before the execution. “Production is not the hardest part – it’s understanding the politics surrounding each job so that we can deliver the best work possible.”
